We are seeking a skilled and experienced Meat Associate to join our team in a supermarket. As a Meat Associate, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation, display, and sales of meat products, as well as ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the meat department. You will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service to our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive and inspect meat products, including beef, poultry, pork, and seafood, and ensure they are properly stored and displayed in the meat department.
• Cut, trim, and grind meat products as needed to fulfill customer orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Package and label meat products for display and sale, ensuring that they are priced correctly and properly displayed.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the meat department, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas, and disposing of waste materials.
• Assist customers in selecting and purchasing meat products, providing recommendations and advice on cooking methods, recipes, and meal planning.
• Process and maintain inventory levels of meat products, ensuring that orders are placed on time and accurately tracked.
• Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper handling of equipment and tools, and using personal protective equipment when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Meat Department Manager.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience working in a meat department, or a similar role in the food industry, is preferred.
• Knowledge of different types of meat cuts, preparation methods, and cooking techniques.
• Ability to operate and maintain meat processing equipment, such as grinders, slicers, and scales.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately measure and weigh ingredients and products.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment, with the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in a refrigerated environment.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations and procedures, and ability to follow them strictly.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
